While the post-Wrestlemania cutting cycle has cooled off in recent years, many wrestling fans (and those within the industry themselves) were shocked by the recent spree of layoffs involving some of the company’s most tenured and respected talents.

Names like Kurt Angle, Rusev, Zack Ryder, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were among those who were let go. According to Dave Meltzer, longtime NXT fixture Kassius Ohno has also been added to this list.

Creating a name for himself alongside former independent stalwarts like CM Punk in the early 2000s, Ohno (real name Chris Spradlin) was best known as Chris Hero before making his way to WWE. His most successful run on the independents may have come during his run with Cesaro (then known as Claudio Castignoli) as “The Kings of Wrestling.”

Ohno recently changed his Twitter handle to “WWE Alumni.” Speculation is that he was furloughed by the company and may be brought back at a later date. He was originally released by WWE in 2013 after a two-year run, but returned in 2016.

Do you think Kassius Ohno/Chris Hero will return to WWE? If not, where do you think he will show up? Let us know in the comments below.
